After our classic route mostly runs along the Rhine, we have now established a new city route 🏙️through the streets and gardens of Düsseldorf – something a tourist, expat, or newcomer to Düsseldorf should know and about what “the Kö” means to the locals.
And when we say “gardens,” we mean it literally! Join us on this Sightseeing tour and experience how green Düsseldorf really is.

Schlossturm. Always a nice spot to start a running tour.

or learn more about the City tour by reading the tour description following here: 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️

City Run with Kö flavor – what to expect, what you will see:

7 km through the city with a relaxed speed with a lot of nature, streets and touching the soul of the city.

We start at the bank of the Rhine at the Schlossturm and walk a few hundred meters along the promenade. However, here we soon turn eastward and pass below the Oberkasseler Brücke with a view of a unique tunnel adorned with thousands of slide images.
Who can spot the tower, the clown, the Königsallee, or the pornographic images?
This artwork is as unassuming as it is wonderful; if you know what to look for, you can easily pass the time marveling at it.

Beyond the bridge, we continue into the garden once founded by Napoleon: the “Hofgarten”. Amidst peaceful greenery, we jog through the park, passing by two beautiful bridges and eventually reaching the Dreischeibenhaus.
This well-known and grand building connects various elements: the Hofgarten and Playhouse (Schauspielhaus) on one side, the door to our shopping street on the next side, and to the west lies the Old Town.

However, we continue northward, towards the Königsallee, also a kind of shopping street if you can afford it 💲💲💲.

Here you gain an impression of how and where one can go shopping in Düsseldorf.

Citytour and Kö

We continue our tour towards Königsallee.

The Kö is probably the most famous street in this city. This is where the rich and beautiful go shopping or sit in a café, not to chat, but to stare and be seen.
But when we come, it will be different: because the rich snobs will now have to admire us sightrunners instead of the misguided fancy expensive sports cars that are only capable of driving in circles.

Running further along the Kö, we end up in another park, the Schwanenspiegel.
Crossing the short green section, our Sightrun continues towards an old familiar sight:
The good old television tower aka Fernsehturm. In contrast to our classic tour, you see it here very close!
We practically pass under the tower and get a great view of the Medienhafen, the city beach and Oberkassel.

And there it is again, the Rhine. The river accompanies us along the old town back to our starting point and after 7 kilometers we are back.

A little bit more fit, a little happier and certainly with new impressions!

Weiter so!

Very nice way to discover the city while doing what I totally love, running. Our guides were super friendly locals who love their city and are both good runners so talking and running was not a problem ;-) Highly recommend this group!

We had a great time combining 2 of our favorite things, running and exploring a new city 😎 Jens and Flo tell you interesting things about Düsseldorf while running and we could enjoy the views and beautiful buildings at a higher pace than you normally would. So if you and your colleagues or friends are looking for a fun way to discover Düsseldorf and you enjoy a run…this is it 🤩

Run2Know is a great concept to combine being active and experiencing a new city. We went for a round of about 8km with a comfortable pace, which allowed the guide (Jens) to explain the areas we passed by. In addition to seeing areas of the city that a tourist normally would not visit, you get to experience the city through the experience of a Düsseldorf local. I would definitely recommend the experience to anyone looking to explore Düsseldorf :)

I would highly recommend it. There is nothing better than getting to know something new and cool about the city and nearby places while doing one of your favorite things. And trust me, its definitely more than something :) I also think its not just for those who are visiting Düsseldorf(although its GREAT for those) but also amazing for folks like me who're living here since years but never took the city tour :D I'm glad I went for this rather than the city tour. Probably will go for it again.
